Senegal: Dakar, West African capital of electronic banking from 21 to 22 June 2018

The Senegalese capital Dakar will host, June 21st and 22nd, 2018, the sixth edition of the Salon monétique d’Afrique de l’Ouest. The event organized by the interbank monetary grouping of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (GIM UEMOA).

This edition will focus on the theme: “Digitalisation of payments and technological innovations for the development of financial inclusion”. The opportunity to connect decision-makers and actors from different sectors of activity related to electronic banking and information and communication technologies.

According to the organizers, this edition should contribute once again to bring WAEMU banks closer together with a view to modernizing payment systems and methods in the Zone, developing electronic banking systems and promoting financial inclusion. It will also be the place to develop electronic banking inter-bancarity between GIM-UEMOA members by guaranteeing interoperability via the interbank platform.
