Jeune Afrique has established this ranking by taking into account all business lawyers (African and foreign – French and Anglo-Saxon lawyers in particular) practicing on the African continent and on the basis of the following criteria: the number of cases handled, their complexity, the amounts at stake, but also the diversity of the countries concerned as well as the economic and social utility of each project.

Jeune Afrique ranks Master Baba Hady Thiam as 27th among the best business lawyers in French-speaking Africa for the past year. During this year, Mr. Baba Hady Thiam advised the Chinese conglomerate TBEA Group as part of its integrated project including the construction of a bauxite mine, two power plants, an alumina plant and a smelter. aluminum for a minimum value of US $ 2.9 billion, Chinalco as part of its US $ 1.3 billion investment in the Boffa mega mining project, Oryx Energies in connection with the sale of its Guinean subsidiary, as well as many confidential but no less important transactions.

A pure product of the Guinean education system, Master Baba Hady Thiam did indeed all his pre-university education in Guinea (Primary School and College at Nongo Unit, High School in Saint Georges) and was First of the Republic at the 2003 Baccalaureate. then studied at the University Hassan I (finishing Major of his promotion), at the University Montesquieu Bordeaux-IV (still among the majors of his promotion), at the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas and at the University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He then passed the entrance examination at the Paris Bar School where he graduated in 2011 and was again recently graduated (in 2017) from the Public Law Master of the University Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne.

Master Baba Hady Thiam began his career as a business lawyer in the largest French law firm, the prestigious Gide Loyrette Nouel where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and private equity before joining in 2015 the Paris office of the American firm Dechert LLP.

This award from Jeune Afrique comes a few days after the world-leading legal repertoire Chambers & Partners has recognized its expertise, considering Master Baba Hady Thiam as a rising star of law on the African continent.

Master Baba Hady Thiam is also Co-Founder and President of the Guinean Young Professionals’ Club, a club of young Guinean professionals working for the promotion and development of business life in the Republic of Guinea and works in many other associations and organizations in the Republic of Guinea.

This young and already beautiful career proves that skills are not lacking among Guinean youth.

CEO AfrikaTech
